Animations: Great Attention Getters

Where in the World is Utah?

PowToon Animation

PowToon is easy to use and is a great way to grab attention from students.  I used this animation in a fourth grade class and then we worked on group projects to learn about the regions of Utah.  This was a great way to teach some of the more boring information like Longitude and Latitude, and get right to the part that is more fun.  If the video doesn't work below click the link, Where is Utah?

Animoto: Simple, Interesting, and Informative

The Transfer of Heat

Sixth Grade Science

Animoto is a great way to introduce topics of discussion and classwork.  I don't think this is a good form of visual aid for instruction, unless the teacher was planning on discussing and answering questions afterward.
